Who We Are

We’re just two families—regular folks who once lived the 9-to-5 grind. The kind where every day felt the same, and the future for our kids looked… well, not very bright. We knew deep down there had to be a better way to live. A life with more freedom. More time for family. More fresh, organic food on the table. More natural healing, and yes—better weather too.

We searched for a community that was affordable, welcoming, and free of pressure to follow a certain belief system. Somewhere you could truly just be yourself. When we couldn’t find it, we decided to build it. Together. Right here on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica.

Why the Caribbean side? Simple. The Pacific coast is already crowded and commercialized. We wanted something different—something raw and real. A little gem tucked into the jungle, with all the modern comforts you’d ever need.

Here, it’s about choice. Want to share a meal and a laugh with neighbors? You can. Want complete privacy? That’s okay too. It’s about good food, fresh air, stunning views, and a community that actually feels like… well, a village. Because it truly does take a village.

She’s built multiple successful businesses, including a thriving Airbnb, and understands what it takes to create spaces that are both beautiful and profitable.

    Melanie’s connection to the earth and practical know-how are the foundation of LunaMar’s regenerative, nature-integrated vision.

    With over 10 years of experience in project management and marketing, Sherry brings vision, structure, and heart to LunaMar. She has built multiple successful businesses and brings hands-on knowledge of farm life and animal care, adding depth to our land-based living model.

    Sherry leads with intention, ensuring every detail of the project reflects community, sustainability, and long-term value.

    With over 20 years of hands-on experience in building, HVAC, and refrigeration systems, Ryan brings unmatched expertise and craftsmanship to LunaMar. His deep knowledge of building innovation, sustainable systems, and climate-resilient design ensures that every home is not only beautiful — but efficient, durable, and built to last.

    With over 12 years as a firefighter, Steve brings critical expertise in emergency response, safety, and paramedic care. His calm presence and attention to detail help ensure LunaMar is built for resilience and peace of mind.

    Passionate about thrill and adventure, Steve also helps design guest experiences—like our jungle zipline—making LunaMar both safe and unforgettable.
